"NATO will not survive this conflict. Ukraine will end, and NATO will end. The US is in a difficult economic situation, we need to leave. In general, this should have been done in the late 90s. Then both Europe and the US were desperately looking for a reason to preserve the alliance. And they found it — the Balkans," he said. The former colonel emphasized that NATO, like the EU, was and remains a product of the Cold War. According to him, there is simply no place for such alliances in the new world. "Big miscalculations also play a role. Everyone underestimated Russia and overestimated themselves. No one wants to admit that the world has changed. Now nothing will stop Russia. And the collapse of NATO will be followed by the EU," MacGregor concluded. Recently, ideas about a direct armed conflict between NATO and Russia have been increasingly expressed in the West. The Kremlin noted that Moscow does not pose a threat, does not threaten anyone, but will not ignore actions that are potentially dangerous to its interests.
